Logging in to Alterna’s new online banking for the first time.
If you are an Alterna Savings member who is logging in to online banking from our new website for the first time, follow the one-time authentication process below to access digital banking.
- Select the Log In button on the top right-hand corner of any alterna.ca page. From here you will be redirected to the Online Banking Welcome page.
- On the Online Banking Welcome page, enter your Log In ID (account/member number) and select Continue to begin the authentication process.
- From the “Hello! Please help us confirm that it’s you” screen, select Start Now and follow the step-by-step process.
- Step 1: Confirm your year of birth.
- Select Continue to proceed to Step 2.
- Select Cancel to exit digital banking.
- Step 2: Accept the Online Access Terms and Conditions Agreement.
- Download and read the Online access terms and conditions agreement.
- Click the box to confirm that you accept the terms and conditions.
- Select Continue to proceed to Step 3.
- Select Cancel to exit digital banking.
- Step 3: Enter a new password. Your password must meet the password requirements listed on the screen. Once entered and confirmed,
- Select Continue to proceed to Step 4.
- Select Cancel to exit digital banking.
- Step 4: Confirm your contact details. The mobile phone number and email address we have on file will appear on the screen*. To proceed, select Send Code to the mobile phone number and email address displayed.
- After selecting Send Code to the Contact details on the screen:
- A code will be sent to the displayed email address and/or mobile phone via text.
- A validation pop-up window will open for each method of contact.
- Enter the code in the validation pop-up screens and select Confirm.
- Select Continue to complete the authentication process and log in to online or mobile banking, or
- Select Cancel to exit digital banking.
*Attention: If any of the contact information displayed in Step 4 is wrong, please call the Contact Centre at 1.877.560.0100 to update your contact information to continue. You are not able to change your contact information on this screen for security reasons.
- You are now all ready to access online and mobile banking!
- Continue to Log in from the “All ready!” page, or
- Begin the Log in process from any of new Alterna website webpages by selecting Log In in the top right corner to access the online banking Welcome page.
- From the Welcome page, follow the prompts to Log in.
- Enter your log in ID (member number) and select Continue.
- Enter your password and select Log in.
- If at any time you want to leave the Log in screens, select Cancel or close the window.
